iHeartRadio, TuneIn, Stitcher… Navigating the New Audio Aggregators

2:00 PM ET Wednesday, October 3, 2012

Radio and podcast directories - or "audio aggregators" - have been around for a long time. But the latest crop is going where the others couldn't: Everywhere. Services like iHeartRadio, TuneIn, and Stitcher carry audio content across desktop, mobile, tablets, cars, and home entertainment systems.

With millions of people tuning in, competition is fierce. Audio aggregators are turning to public media to broaden their catalogs as each vies to become the leading destination for all genres of listening. Sometimes, they ask for our content. Sometimes, they add it and (maybe) ask later.

Who are these audio aggregators and what value can they bring to public media? How do we derive that value without simply giving away our assets?

Join us on October 3 at 11:00 a.m. PT/ 2:00 p.m. ET to learn more about these services and the pros and cons of participation. Hear perspectives from NPR, KQED, PRX, and APM, all of whom have partnered with various services.
