My Source for Community Engagement: Miami and Boston

Stations of all sizes have used My Source to spread the word about their community engagement efforts. WPBT Channel 2 in Miami featured a community partner expressing the value of uVu, WPBT's online cultural hub. WGBH Boston promoted a community event around adult obesity in a My Source audio spot.

My Source Regional Workshops


CPB is providing Regional Workshops for station professionals willing to commit to the My Source concept as an integral part of their strategic communication activities. The workshops will offer station examples and tools for developing a My Source strategy and utilizing the resources provided by CPB, identifying key community ambassadors to participate, amplifying the passion that users have for your station through My Source, and leveraging that passion to increase support for your station.

June 26-27, Chicago - for Television and Joint Licensees

Grants from Talaris Institute


In their fourth year of partnering with PBS, Talaris Institute will award ten $10,000 grants and five $7,500 grants to stations working in their communities to educate parents about early childhood development. Grant applications are due May 31.

Resources for DEPRESSION: Out of the Shadows


Twin Cities Public Television (tpt) has created an array of resources to accompany the premiere of DEPRESSION: Out of the Shadows on May 21. The online resources cover a variety of topics to increase your community's knowledge about depression, lessen its stigma, and connect people with much-needed support. The resources will be available after the premiere to help you engage your community long-term and strengthen your impact. DEPRESSION is a production of tpt and WGBH Boston.

World Café Live: A WXPN Radio Impact Story


WXPN Radio in Philadelphia has made its station into a popular community hub by creating World Café Live. Read how community members of all ages have made it a tradition to visit and interact with the arts in our story of impact "Jamming with the Community."

NCO'S Repository Pick: Nashville's "Rivers to Oceans"


Nashville Public Television is in the middle of "Rivers to Oceans," an initiative they co-created with local meteorologists, nature centers, municipal water services and environmental groups. Their goal: engage community members to grow their understanding of "how they, as individuals in Tennessee, impact ocean environments no matter where they live."
